Twenty years ago, this was an empty, sloping corner block with just an abandoned tennis court; today, it has evolved into a thoughtfully designed, stunning oasis complete with trees, lawns, garden beds, patios, and a pool.
There’s plenty of shade in the woodland-style front garden provided by over 60 trees. The hydrangeas, camellias, and shade-loving shrubs surrounding an oval lawn flourish in the micro-climate that keeps them cooler during the summer.
A formal rose garden includes David Austin roses in pink, white, and yellow, with clipped box hedges surrounding it.
Stunning stone walls and steps lead to a fountain garden themed in green and white, featuring hedges and climbing roses.
There is a lawn stretching the length of a cricket pitch, featuring a grove of Ginkgos, Prunus trees, and herbaceous borders in a riot of purples, pinks, and whites.
A flower patch features sweet peas and dahlias, while the veggie patch contains wicking beds filled with homegrown kitchen ingredients. There’s also a greenhouse for potting up seedlings and a chook shed.
Two fresh green Robinias frame the main lawn, encircled by Japanese box and Murraya hedges, along with beds of vibrant mix-and-match annuals for a splash of summer colour.
The circular courtyard includes pots of white bougainvillea and geraniums. Along the length of the lap pool are pots of citrus trees to add a Mediterranean ambience, plus a Duranta hedge for screening.
There are plenty of places to sit and contemplate the vistas throughout the garden.
Indulge in a delightful high tea on the lawn or in the courtyard. Savour tea or coffee paired with delicious finger sandwiches and bite-sized sweet treats served on elegant fine china.
NOTE: There are LOTS OF STEPS so this garden is NOT suitable for walkers, wheelchairs or pushchairs.
