Open Gardens SA and the Master Landscapers of SA have donated more than $24,000
SACWA volunteers were at every garden gate

The proceeds from the SA Landscape Festival were donated to the South Australian Country Women’s Association (SACWA) for its community support work, helping South Australians who are doing it tough.

The funds will provide basic emergency assistance to families in need through the SACWA Emergency Aid Fund. Assistance is provided upon recommendation from a social worker, counsellor, or Association members. SACWA uses every dollar raised for this purpose, as it does not deduct administration costs.

The fundraising total was announced at an event at SACWA headquarters to thank everyone involved in making the SA Landscape Festival such an outstanding event this April.

Jamie McIlwain from the festival organising committee extended special thanks to the garden owners for generously allowing the public to wander around their backyards and the designers who showcased their talents in making each space special.

He also paid tribute to the cheerful, hardworking team from SACWA who volunteered at each garden gate across the festival weekend.

SACWA State President Roslyn Schumann spoke about the variety of gardens and the glowing feedback about the festival. She extended thanks to Open Gardens SA and hoped the relationship would continue for more festivals in the future.

We were thrilled to welcome more than 6,600 garden visits throughout the event, which was an amazing turnout and a splendid financial outcome that will support many South Australian families in need across the state.
