Set across a spectacularly steep slope, this large garden unfolds as a series of interconnected experiences. A network of winding paths criss-crosses the hillside, drawing visitors up and down through richly planted beds and linking a sequence of terraced areas. The sense of movement is constant, with each turn revealing a new perspective or intimate garden moment shaped by the contours of the land.
Planting throughout the garden is remarkably diverse yet beautifully unified. Colourful flowering perennials and roses mingle confidently with native species, South African plants and sweeping areas of grasses. Ponds are tucked into the landscape, offering moments of calm and reflection, while architectural plants and striking foliage combinations provide strong structure and visual interest year-round. The result is a garden that feels abundant and carefully composed rather than crowded.
From the top terrace, the reward is a superb outlook across to the adjacent wooded hillside. Here, densely planted trees create a living tapestry of varied foliage, textures and tones that echo and extend the garden beyond its boundaries. The view reinforces the garden’s relationship with the surrounding landscape, making the slope not a challenge, but its greatest asset.
NOTE: This garden has many steep slopes, steps and uneven paths so take care
