This rambling, 2 acre country garden has been carved out of a 14 acre property. It is planted with waterwise species and designed to attract birds though choice of plants and use of bird feeders.

Several distinctly different areas flow well into one another – heritage and David Austin roses are planted throughout the garden, and there are colourful borders with iris, salvias, and echiums as well as lawns and an orchard of espalier fruit and nut trees.

One area is planted with Australian natives and in another, the use of South African plants like proteas, leucadendrons and succulents has successfully overcome the problem of poor compacted soil.

The drive is bordered with 140 roses - Sally Holmes – a spectacular sight when flowering.

In an adjacent paddock, dotted with beautiful river red gums, a herd of alpacas graze. Another paddock has a large dam and is planted with European trees with mown grass beneath creating a lovely outlook.

The historic home of famed South Australian artist Hans Heysen, “The Cedars”, adjoins this property.

Size: 2 acres, 0.8ha.
