Please note: This garden will open jointly with Semmens Interesting Garden (500m away - follow the arrows on the footpath). You can choose to see both gardens for $12, or the usual $8/$6 for one only. Please note that no further concessions will apply for the joint ticket.

The Flightpath garden at Torrensville is an eclectic mix of fruit and vegetables, natives, Mediterranean plants and hardy survivors. The front garden is filled with well-tended olive trees heavily laden with fruit. Two generously fruiting pomegranate trees frame the entrance to the back of the property, which is an excellent example of a productive and sustainable garden on a suburban block.

Fruit, vegetables and herbs abound to provide year round produce. Citrus including oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruit are grown together with apricots, pears, plums, figs and quince. Vegetables in season at the time of opening will include chillies, capsicums and lots of leafy greens.

A small hillock has been created in the rear garden as a focal point to grow Australian natives and some Mediterranean water wise exotics like germander, westringias and salvias. There is an attractive Mallee eucalypt and drifts of kangaroo grass. A narrow walk way between the shed and fence houses a funky display of succulents and cacti.

A large chook shed has grapes growing over it to provide shade in summer and there are plenty of interesting recycling ideas and artwork featured in the garden.

Size: 0.25 acres

The nominated charity for this garden is Therapy Dogs.
