Description

This vibrant suburban garden starts on the verge where dietes, agapanthus and iris grow under the jacaranda street trees. Inside the front fence a thickly planted assortment of roses, salvias, cottage plants and some veggies have replaced the lawn. A beautiful ginkgo tree adds to the ambiance.

Behind the house a series of paths divide garden beds crammed with ornamental plants that intermingle with vegetables, herbs and fruit trees. Productive plants are an important part of Anna’s garden and fruit and vegetables are in plentiful supply. The mainly Mediterranean fruit trees include mandarin, tangelo, lemon, quince and cumquat; also peach, nectarine and damson.

Pots are used extensively, particularly along the side of the house where there is shade and under the trees where the soil is dry. A group of potted ferns and a collection of blue and white pots are just some of the charming decorative features. The tall trees provide shade and a sheltered feel.

Eight bins are used to convert green waste to compost which keeps the soil healthy and able to sustain the dense planting.

A pretty and productive garden with every available space filled with something of interest!

Size: 670sqm.

Extra activities: Photos and paintings will be for sale.
