Relaxed, pretty, 1 acre country style garden with meandering pathways, plenty of garden seating and many “old fashioned” and unusual plants adding to diversity.

The garden is well established with most plantings 20+ years old. It features more than 800 named varieties of bearded irises and 200+ roses, with mass plantings of irises providing a kaleidoscope of colour each spring.

Focal points are used to great effect, for example, a long lawn stretches to an elongated urn, David Austin roses encircle a classic water feature and clematis is slowly reclaiming the rebuilt gazebo. Formal hedges are a feature, espaliered fruit trees line the western fence, and chickens and ducks are used to control pests such as snails and grubs.

The garden is generally flat with very gentle slopes – while there are some steps to the house, all areas can be accessed via gentle slopes, thus avoiding the steps. Garden paths are firm and wide enough for most pushers/prams and wheelchairs.

1 acre, 0.4ha
